Uganda is known for its wildlife and landscapes, but the memories often come from quieter moments in between: the sense of awe after locking eyes with a mountain gorilla, the excitement of finding chimpanzees in the forest, the golden light at the end of a game drive or conversations shared with local guides along the way.
Some travelers come to Uganda for mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Others are drawn to chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, wildlife safaris across Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Lake Mburo and Kidepo Valley National Parks or quiet evenings overlooking the River Nile. I felt completely safe travelling alone with Eddy. He calmly rerouted a closed road and helped me see the Big Five in less than 24 hours.
I had an absolutly fantastic journey with Eddy through the Murchinson Falls NP. I went in low season, so I was all alone as a young solo female traveler. But I felt 100% safe with Eddy. He‘s a good driver, tour Guide, travel body and a really decent human being at all. He told me a lot about his country, his people, the environment of Uganda and he knows absolutly everything about the ugandan animals. We stayed at a cozy resort, he adjusted my travel plans along the way so I could get most of my three days in Uganda and wouldn‘t get stuck in traffic because of an political event that came with a closed main road… he speaks a perfect english and it‘s completly impossible to not like him.
And not to miss out on that: we made the Big 5 in less then 24 hours 😎 the rhinos we saw at a sanctury but they live all free there and you can only walk up to them, if they are in the mood. And Eddy spotted the 🐆🐆🐆 when most drivers had allready lost patience and were long gone. But he knows the animals so well that we got to see the real king of the savannah with only one other car by our side. Still impressed by his abilities!

The atmosphere throughout the whole journey was fantastic. Eddy is a very funny and warm person, and we laughed so much together along the way. It never felt like we were simply traveling with a guide – it felt like exploring Uganda with a good friend.
No matter how small the problem or request was, Eddy always had a quick and excellent solution. We also felt completely safe and comfortable with him in the car at all times.
The entire experience was truly wonderful from beginning to end, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to discover Uganda.

Our safari to Murchison Falls with Eddy was unforgettable through Gamba Uganda Safaris. The boat trip to the waterfall was beautiful and we saw so many animals.
loved the game drive across the savannah. The hotel where we stayed by the water felt like a fairy tale — it was so lovely that we wished we could stay longer. On the way back, we even got to see the rhinos. Eddy was enthusiastic, open and warm. At times I think he was even more excited about the wildlife than we were! Gorilla trekking ranges from moderate to challenging depending on weather, terrain and where the gorilla family is located that day. Hikes can take a few hours and include steep or muddy sections.
We discuss your fitness level in advance and request the most suitable group where possible. Porters are also available and highly recommended for comfort on the trail.
Yes. When a package states permits are included, we secure them on your behalf through the relevant authorities and include them in your final quotation.
Permit fees are controlled by park authorities and can change over time, so we always confirm current rates at the time of booking.
Uganda is a well-established safari destination, but no destination or journey is risk-free. Conditions can change, so we plan routes carefully with experienced driver-guides and vetted accommodation.
Before travel, review current official travel advice, health requirements and local conditions for your itinerary. We provide practical pre-arrival and on-ground guidance, but travelers should make decisions based on their own circumstances and the latest advice.
Most itineraries include private transport in a safari vehicle, accommodation, guide services, park entry where specified, activities listed in the plan and airport transfers.
International flights, visas, travel insurance, optional activities and personal expenses are typically not included unless clearly stated.
Uganda is a year-round destination. The drier months (roughly June–August and December–February) are often preferred for trekking and game drives due to easier trail and road conditions.
The greener months can be excellent for scenery, photography and value, with fewer crowds in some locations.
Cost depends on trip length, permit requirements, accommodation category and travel dates. Mid-range private safaris are usually more affordable than many travelers expect when planned efficiently.

Please note that gorilla trekking has a minimum age requirement of 15 years, but we can include alternative activities for younger travelers.
For gorilla permits and popular lodges, booking 3–6 months in advance is ideal, especially for peak travel periods.
Last-minute planning is still possible based on permit and room availability and we will propose the best practical alternatives.
