Welcome to Uganda
On arrival at Uganda's Entebbe International Airport, you'll be met by our representative and transferred to your guesthouse for relaxation and overnight stay.
Depending on your arrival time, you may have the option of a Kampala city tour or a visit to Mabamba Swamp to search for the shoebill stork.
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Top of the Falls
After breakfast you travel north-west to Murchison Falls National Park. Before checking in at your lodge, you will visit the famous top of the falls.
Here the River Nile forces its way through a narrow 7-metre gorge and plunges more than 40 metres below, creating one of the most powerful waterfalls in Africa.
Transfer guide: Approx. 5?6 hours by road from Entebbe or Kampala depending on traffic and stopovers.
Morning game drive and boat cruise
You head out on a morning game drive when the animals are most active, since it is not yet so bright and temperatures are cooler. This is a good time to spot wildlife. A drive through the park brings you eye-to-eye with the African animal kingdom: elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds.
In the afternoon, A 3-hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile takes you to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, expect excellent sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, birdlife, and beautiful river scenery, followed by an evening game drive.
The evening game drive offers a chance to spot species you may have missed earlier in the day, providing a final opportunity to witness the park's diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.
Ziwa Rhino Tracking and Departure
On your final day, you depart Murchison Falls and drive to Entebbe for your departure. En route, track rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a leading conservation success story in Uganda. This guided walk offers a close and memorable encounter with one of Africa's Big Five.
Your journey ends at Entebbe International Airport, where you can return home or continue with an East African or Indian Ocean extension. This marks the end of your 4-day Murchison Falls safari with GambaUganda Safaris.
